A couple of maintenance issues please help

Hi,

Firstly I was out in the car last night and the exhaust warning light came on and it has stayed on constantly so luckily today I had it booked into my usual Vw specialist for a couple of other bits and a service and he's had a look and found the recirc valve to be knackered so I've ordered a forge one but in the mean time does anyone no if this could have caused the exhaust light to come on or is it nothing to do with the light and the cause of that will be something completely different?
Also I have got the rear high level brake light problem so I'm gonna need to smash it out I've done it before on my R32 and on that it was LED but the gti doesn't appear to be, but could I fit the R32 LED light anyway or would it not fit?

I've not come across failed a failed DV causing issues with exhaust sensors, so I'd suggest getting a full diagnostic from someone with a fault scanner of VCDS. The Forge unit is a good item, but a replacement OE one would also have been fine and costs quite a bit less! But still, do a job once hey?!

As for the rear light strip in the spoiler, I'd suggest using a GTI one just to be safe.
