Cam belt/water pump

My car has only done 64k but is now 10 years old.

It had a cambelt change 5 years ago on 38k miles

So after five years I think I should get a new cambelt!!
My question is does the water pump need to be done at same time???

I'm told definitely advisable,mine done last year on the four year option,main dealer changed pump,tension ears. Good luck.

I didn't when I had mine done 3 years ago but I will on the next change at 120K miles.

It's certainly recommended as the belt drives the water pump and the kit with pump is only £30 more (from me)

I just got my mk5 gti on 68k it too had a cambelt and tenioners changed at 37k 5 years ago. I just had cambelt, waterpump, tensioners and coolent done at VW £399 all in. :)
