Drivers side door Pin missing.

Hi all,

On my MK4 GTI 1.8T somewhere in time somone has broken off the door pin and its connecting rod, the rubber grommet. part of the plastic behind the window regulator,

question is, has anyone ever re-fitted one of these? not that they have any really use.
I just changed the window regulator as the other one was well very very damaged. by whoever thought it was a great idea that instead of fixing the dropping window, they would use the arms off the regulator and screw them to the inner door and use them to hold the window up!

but that still leaves me with no lock pin and no lock pin mechanism?

Shame you've not got a picture of the window rails, Sounds like one for the ghetto-fix hall of fame!
Door pin & rod etc be removed and refitted to module, however it has a complex bend & I've only done it with the module off the door. Just depends on access and what else they savaged when it was torn out... Perhaps get a pic of the module area if you can

Id put a picture up, but the black plastic piece that is attached to the window regulator is snapped, so id be taking a picture of nothing really, I have a pic of the old window regulator panel with that in place on my phone, ill try and get it uploaded

oh hang on you meant pics of the ghetto fix someone had done, I fitted the new window regulator in the dark last night with a head torch I really wasn't in the mood for photos lol

Was door module still riveted to the regulator panel?
If you want the pin that much and not knowing how much is missing, it's probably easiest/cheapest with a quick trip to breakers to grab the missing parts :/

Door module is piggy backed on the window motor so no not riveted on,

The speaker rim was, that was fun drilling that out, thanks VW!

debating just gettign a pin, Glueing it into the hole, so i dont have a hole... like i care anyway who the hell uses the pins on the doors for locking anyway?
