shipping issues

My car is now built and in transit but my dealer tells me there are delays and they "had 2 ships sat out at sea doing nothing for 2 wks as they could not get cars out of the port for some reason?"
Any one else heard of this?

Stormy weather? It has been very windy recently all around the countries that sit around the English Channel. One of the DFDS ferry sailings from North Shields to Amsterdam was cancelled last week due to high winds - and Emden isn't a huge distance from the Hook of Holland.
