Apparently a common mk6 issue a pop, knock or crack can be heard from underneath the car its where the subframe moves slightly against the body, anyone else experienced this?

I think I have. Last Saturday I was pulling away uphill and there was a considerable clonk from under the car, I would say right under the gear lever. I thought I must have ran over  a brick something but there was nothing seen, weird, never happened before in 20k miles.

^^^ correct, either re-torque all your sub-frames bolts, if it happens again replace all bolts. The ECS kit is good, but not really needed.
