Airbag light on since removing...
« on: 28 February 2015, 11:32 »
Morning all. Ive successfully changed my ignition switch this morning, but when refitting steering wheel and airbag, Ive now got the red light staying on.

Any ideas why lads?

Thanks

As you have 'broken' the circuit, It'll show a fault until you clear it with Vagcom...that's what happened on my mk4 back when I had it

Got it scanned, ideally with VAGCOM, safety faults such as this don't clear until they have been scanned.
Hopefully its just a fault whilst installing the switch

See if anyone local has VAGCOM, few beer tokens should suffice Couple minutes work.

Where abouts are you?

Or you could buy a cable from ebay and reset it with vcds lite.
Good luck.
