Ordered GTD Yesterday

Ordered my 5 door Golf GTD from Inch Stirling yesterday. Was told that it will be around 4 -5 months for delivery. Long time but cant wait to get it.

Went for the following extras.

Carbon Grey Metallic Paint
Keyless Entry
Rear View Camera

Wow, 5 months! Such crazy lead times on these cars - think mine took 12 weeks last year.

I think mine was something like 4 months beginning of last year.

Seems about normal from what I've read on here, unless you get lucky and are able to get something that is in the build process that someone else has cancelled the order for, or maybe something a dealer has ordered as stock - but it does depend on matching your colour/spec to one already on the system.

4-5 months is still shorter than the 6 months i had to wait for mine  :angry:

Ahhh, you've got ages to wait there, plenty of time to alter your spec.
Go for the Sport and Sound pack to get some nice red callipers to work against the grey paint then add Park Assist as it's cheap and huge fun!

I was tempted with the sport and sound pack. Definitely won't be getting the park assist I just don't trust it.

Is the sport and sound just 2 speakers and red calipers?

I am still waiting on an order number so I can track the build stage as the personal lease guy wasn't in yesterday, was told I should have this by Monday.

There were only 40 5 door GTD's in the UK when he checked the system and they all had stupidly high spec including heated leather seats and the £1700 sat nav.

Would love if the car came quicker had a 24 test drive in a 3 door last week and it's far better than my BMW 318d m sport. Think the fuel consumption will be around the same though 44mpg

What do you mean you don't trust the park assist?? It works perfectly every time and gets you out of spaces too.

It's probably like not trusting ACC to brake for you, until that first time it brakes for you when you were slow to react. I'm sure you'd have to use it a few times to trust it.
