one for the festival goers
« on: 26 February 2015, 12:07 »
Never bought a day ticket for a festival before only ever bought weekend camping tickets.

im wanting to take the other half to T in the Park. we saw the libertines last year and they were brilliant so would love to see them again, theres a few other bands we like that are on so it ticks all the boxes.

i was going to get a hotel for us to stay in as i dont think she could hack camping. when i looked i couldnt really find anything and everything i could find remotely close was stupidly expensive (one place wanted £1500 for two nights), so that idea has gone out of the window. so fek it were camping :D

as im only buying a 1 day ticket, does this include camping normally? been a few years since i went to a festival and iv never bought  a one day ticket so not sure on the crack, cant find anything on the titp website.

i remember the last festival i went to two of my mates came for one day only and they stoped over night, but cant remember if the camping was included in the day ticket or if they just blaged it over night....

so basically my questions are:-
1. anybody know any decent hotels near the titp site that arent stupidly expensive? (preferably walking distance/taxi/bus/train).
2. anybody know if i buy a saturday ticket will i be able to camp on the saturday night and go home on sunday?

I live in Auchterarder which is right next to the new site this year, Strathallan Castle, and your best bet for a hotel would be Perth but there are other hotels nearer in Auchterarder you could try. But as I must say this new site is not at all suitable for getting to and from as it as it's fairly secluded and access is mostly narrow back roads once you've left the A9 but I assume there will be some sort of system in place for moving people. I'm not a festival goer really but know a day ticket wont give you access to camp sites.

Lots of problems ongoing still so it may still yet be cancelled via local opposition. These roads that link Strathallan are agriculturally busy at that time of year so I still don't see how they plan to sort that out. Gonna be chock-a-block.

Yeah, a one day ticket won't get you camp access
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

Lol.....by the time T in the parks comes around I wont be living in Auchterarder hopefully.

What about B&B's as this place is rife with them and alot are pretty well run, loads of wee villages surround the site and could be considered within walking distance if your a keen walker
