Don't know if this has already been mentioned but if you are changing from auto to manual you will have to bypass the inhibitor that the auto had (the safety switch that stops an auto being started unless it's in park or neutral ).I guess you will be using the loom from the donor car so this may not be an issue.

Your standard master cylinder should be o.k. but your reservoir will need changing to a 16v or vr6 one as they both have the nipple on for the pipe that goes to the slave. They just pull out/push in with a side to side wiggle.

Your pedal box should already have the bracket on to accomodate the extra pedal and mechanism for the clutch so you may not need to take dash out to add the parts.

Right so once the auto loom is ripped out (including the extra auto ECU) and swapped for the 16v loom then there will be no problems with the inhibitor.

Even the 8v master cylinder reservoir has the nipple for the clutch take off but it's blanked so all you need to do is cut the end off and attach the clutch pipe.

I would remove the dash, trying to add the extra pedal is a nightmare with the pedalbox still in situ. Plus removing the dash will make it easier to swap the looms over.

So its basically sat for 3 years.
I'd change the rubber and leave it at that for now.
What colour is the antifreeze

It's not done the mileage I would of done in it, put it that way haha, I've done 12k in my A4, since August, not sure if the water pump has been done though.

Antifreeze is pink, not tested its protection level yet, but I'll be changing it anyway, same goes, for the oil.
