Quickie about driver profile
« on: 25 February 2015, 07:57 »
Are the settings remembered or do they default back to normal when the ignition is on/off? Same for dcc.
Thanks.

Never had any issues with mine either. I am sure it has been mentioned that each key remembers the settings for the mirror drop in reverse but can't say I have noticed anything.

There is definitely a noticeable increase in throttle response if you start in sport, change to normal and then back to sport.

If you have an issue it does. I had that issue and it was fixed on my first service when there was an ECU software update.

I believe they all look like they are in the correct mode but in reality they are all actually in normal mode, until you reselect.

Nope, mine is definitely in sport when it says it is....now.

Prior to my service, the car would give me all sport characteristics (steering, soundaktor etc) except the actual throttle response when sat in sport journey after journey. The throttle response was normal though. Flick it out of Sport and back in then the engine would perk up and the car would get a little thirstier.

Since the software update this no longer happens - sport is sport and changing modes to come back doesn't affect the throttle response at all.

A problem that some of us had (and some still have), and some haven't - my dad's GTD wasn't affected but mine was.

Any idea what the software update is called? Mine will be in for a service soon and I wouldn't mind them doing it.

No idea, not something they intentionally fixed. I asked them to take a look while it was in for a service, they said they'd trawled the VW bulletins for a solution from Germany but there wasn't one. They applied some routine software updates and it was gone (they didn't know it had been fixed).
