speedo cable

dropped theendoff the speedy cable when i was changing the clutch dont even know what it looks like butits in my gearbox nowthe speedo doesnt work will i need a new cable or can i justbuy anew end bit and how do i fit it cheers

do u mean the plastic bit on the end of ur speedo cable??
if so u can just buy that bit, worth trying to fish ur old one out though,its just a push fit so preety simple job really, hope this helps

there's a plastic cone on the end of the cable which is only a few quid from vw or gsf. i had to get one a little while back as i done the same thing! mines still floating about in the g/box though  :laugh:

yeah so is mine and now i have problems selecting fifth gear so worth taking the time to get it out if u can

cheers, will buy a new end bit.  Had problems selecting reverse today what a nightmare.  Ended up breaking a gear rod selector thingy.  Got a new one and had to ram it into gear to solve th eproblem.  Will it eventually just get mashed up in there or will it piss me off again sometime?  ta  :shocked: :undecided:

it should just end up getting mashed up, my gearbox seizes sometimes, gonna give it another month or so then drain the fliud to get rid of as much as i can, would recomend u doing the same
