When I ordered the car, it was to be a kept for around the next 7-8 years so hence I thought I would load it with the toys I wanted, in hindsight, and change of job, It will be going asap !
It's definitely a Friday afternoon built car !

Pulman Durham dealer

If you want shot and have grounds for rejection, it's going to be by far the cheapest option to get rid. My R will be my first VW from the Durham branch. I usually go to Sunderland, but my go-to salesperson transferred to Durham branch and I sought him out there. He got me within £200 broker discount on the R and £500 more in p/x than the broker supplying dealership would have given on my GTD, well pleased with that.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

The wheel upgrade is a complete rip off. £1000 and it's not as if you get to keep the 18's as well.

The tyres would retail at around £20 more each corner and the wheels, lets say £50 to be generous. So if VW were to charge £300 for the upgrade to 19's I think it would be more like it, but £1000??? Really???

I felt I had to with the R. I ordered with Cadiz, but as time went on I didn't like them, and liked the delicate looking Prets more. It's a lot of money for what they are, but it's my one extravagance on the car being a bit of an option-phobe.

Whether getting 36mpg for the past 17 months is grounds for rejection, on top of all other problems, will have to wait and see. but not happy with Durham branch, we also have a Tiguan bought new from there, we wanted the SE version which we had test driven, and were given a great deal on a show room model.
This was a SE model, but we found after picking it up, due to the fact it had 19" alloys, it comes with sport suspension set up, and the ride make your teeth fall out ! and she feels sick due to the ride, - and had no support from Pulman what so ever.
after 6 cars from Pulman over the years, I really don't want to go back

Just playing with the configurator, you can spec a GTI 5 door with this lot:

Keyless Entry £360

Discover Pro nav/radio system (DNS PRO)
£1,765

Side airbag system, rear (5-door only)
£275

Park assist
£150

Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC)
£815

GTI Performance Pack
£995

Winter Pack with leather
£245

Panoramic sunroof (or 19"' wheels for 1000 quid extra - you can't have both)
£920

Advanced telephone connection
£315

Dynaudio soundpack
£535

High Beam Assist
£0

Rear view camera
£165

Climate windscreen
£295

Lane Assist
£950

Door Sill Trims (5 door)
£134

Rear Bumper Protection- Steel
£146

That makes £39,390 as opposed to £26,580 for a GTI 3 door with no extras - best part of 13k of extras....

Add things like roof bars, mats etc, it makes a 40k Golf GTI.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

What would a 26k base model be worth after 12 months?

Just curious!

Around 75% of it's original list price, so £19.5k trade, or £24k on a dealers forecourt.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
