Need to get 5 stud hubs on my mk2 16v 87
« on: 13 February 2015, 22:34 »
Hi All

I am trying to fit 5 stub hubs to my mk2 golf 16v they are standard at the moment with PCD adaptor to 5x100 with bbs alloy wheels but wanted to loose the adaptor as the wheel sticks out past the arches and the adapters are alloy and I don't trust them as the bolts have torn the threats out. Have tried a mk3 vr6 hub but the drive shaft  is bigger on the vr6 and also caliper mounts are different. Any idea on how I can get a 5 stud hub on the car?

Cheers Aston

You need Mk3 outer CV joints and 5 stud hub + MK2 bearing carrier with either B3 Passat/VR6 280mm discs.
The bearing carrier needs to be pressed out and pressed in.
To get camber and castor right you might need to adjust the ball joint fixing holes, cant remember exactly...
Rear beam just bolts up but you need to fiddle with the bias valve iirc.

Do a search under Mk2/Mk3 4 to 5 stud conversion, been done a lot of times
