2.0 engine
« on: 13 February 2015, 22:24 »
hi guys, im new to water cooled having been into bugs forever, i am on the scent of a 79 campaign non sunroof model, I was offered an engine today to go into it which has got me confused as to what it is, essentially im told it is an early 2.0 that is dimensionally the same as the 1800 that is in the campaign, apparently it has a longer stroke than the 1800 but also uses the same belt set up, does this make sense to anyone?

Could be a number of engines.
Most 2.0 engines come from the MK3 these days but there were a lot of branded long stroking engines from people like TSR.
Either way a 2.0 in MK1 kit kat wrapper will be fun indeed.
I think the earlier engines have a taller block but I could be talking out my tea towel holder as my memory functions incorrectly.

Have a look on the back bottom(ish) left, it should have a block ID. That'll help you identify what block it is.
