2.0gti won't start

Hi I drove 8 miles this morning, then went to start car about 30min later wouldn't turn over.
Bumped it with some trouble run really rough no dials working then started spluttering and cut out.
Now won't turn over also when running rough the handbrake light was flashing. Any ideas please

I wouldn't worry about it. I had one of those and found it quicker to walk.
