Fitting GTI Arches
« on: 16 September 2005, 10:27 »
Right folks. After waiting for almost a year for my arches ive finally got them and shall be attempting to fit them this weekend.

However im planning on using a selent (tiger seal) to seal them onto the wings as the mounting holes for the screws are compleatly nackered. I also have to cut down the arches at one side because of the BMW side skirts.

Question is, Will the sealent be enaugh to hold the arches in securly or do i really need to bolt them down as well? (which could pose as a small problem) I also understand that i will need to leave the arches for 24 hours to set but wouldnt mind double checking this if anybody knows.

pop rivets and either sikaflex or tiger seal should do the job. when i put them on my old mk2 i used masking tape to hold them in place and pop riveted them in 3 places on each arch
