Car turns off immediately after starting
« on: 03 February 2015, 19:18 »
Hello, this is my first post here so i hope i'm not in the wrong section.
I went to work today with my car and everything was fine as usual, but when i finished work (8hrs later) it had a problem. It would crank up and then immediately turn off again. A friend suggested that they key codes were somehow lost and the immobilizer wouldn't let it start, but the Immobilizer dashboard light didn't turn on at all. Got my car to an electric he tried to reprogram my keys but an error kept appearing on his software and he couldn't do it. I left it overnight at his workshop so he could check it in depth tomorrow. Any ideas what the problem could be ?

I have a Golf MK4 TDI 1.9

Thank you in advanced

Scan the car for fault code, could be crank/cam sensors,  coil????
Best scan it for codes and work through them
