Recent GTi / GTD Discounts
« on: 03 February 2015, 15:18 »
Hi guys

keen to know what sort of discounts dealers are offering direct on current orders ?

I ordered a Mk7 over a year ago then had to cancel but am pondering re-ordering again.  My local dealer who I like a lot, offered about 8% discount then, currently offering same deal plus the £750 deposit contribution on a GTi.

I suspect there is more to be had and was thinking to be pushing for at least 10% ?  Any recent orders confirm that is a minimum target to aim for ?

cheers
Andy

If you've nowt to px then take a look at what the brokers (Orangewheels etc) are offering. I got 12% off an R in Sept as well as a fair px price for my GTD (getting fairer every week as the car looks to be getting built 12 weeks after originally planned).
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Yeah defo, I found the cheapest local dealer through carwow.com (as I wanted a local pickup), and got 11% after a bit of haggling using the drivethedeal.com price (12%).

12% is certainly the norm for a broker purchase - if you can negotiate that direct with a dealer plus obtain a good trade-in price for your exisiting car like Monkeyhanger has done then you will be doing very well indeed!

Carwow is a good place to start as its dealers as opposed to brokers.

I got a deal that my local AD matched (~12%) with the finance contribution on top.

Not tried Carnow myself - although to be fair a broker just introduces you to a dealer too. All the cars come from a dealer - the broker or carnow or whoever are simply an introduction agency.

Do you know who is providing you with the prices with Carnow before you commit to an offer? - you don't know which dealer say 'Drivethedeal' will use (well most people do know but its not officially stated).

The individual vw dealers respond to your spec on car wow, that way you know all dealers can effectively do the car at the best price you get.

Will dealers do deals on the gtd estate? Or will it be best to wait a few months?

Don't see why not. They did immediate discounts on the GTI/GTD to generate interest and imagine they would do the same with the estate
