Key Batteries
« on: 02 February 2015, 21:15 »
I have had to change both key batteries in the key fobs as the car flagged both of them as low on the radio screen. The key batteries being low had been logged by the Central Electronics (9) on VCDS too.

For info the batteries are 2025 button cells. I did think that 4 months old was pretty poor for battery life. ( I wonder if this is a keyless issue only).

My car is now 18mnths old and never had an issue with the batteries in the key fob and that's considering that I've only ever used the one key fob. Something doesn't sound right there.

Either that or the person before me swapped out the batteries into some other keys. They were both Sony batteries, now have some Duracell ones.

Same here today with the battery warning only after 16 months. Keyless as well so wondering if this feature consumes more battery life. Sony 2025.

Ditto. For 6 previous VWs, 5 have had the remote central locking, and i've never had to change a battery.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Well it seems that changing the batteries worked and no messages on the screen anymore.

Interesting. Mine is coming up to 12 months next month and I haven't had an issue with my keyless battery life.

Will be keeping an eye out for it though!
