A  lot to be said for sticking with your gut instinct. I've gone for red (April delivery) and must have changed my mind about a dozen times since, from black pearl, night blue, carbon grey....and i've stuck with red. Tornado red is a "great" shade, quite dark and polishes up beautifully. I think it suits the Gti perfectly. Seeing those pics above leaves me in no doubt i've made the right choice to stick by my original decision. Just a shame the badges will be red though!

I agree with that. Even though mine isn't a PP car, I'm not a fan of the red badges. I prefer the contrast of the silver.

It's a real shame that VW don't offer more of a choice. The colours are too restricted imo unless you want to pay silly money for a custom job

Looked at the German configurator, there's about a dozen different blues ! why is it so restricted in the UK. Silly ! Will be looking to change the badges on mine to silver when it arrives, the front should be fairly easy, the back not so !

There might be a few members on here who have the silver badges available as i seem to remember that quite a few changed theirs to red. Personally speaking, i preferred the silver badges as they look a bit more classy imo

Well lads.........I have went for the Carbon Grey Met and will wait and see what comes back.
All I have to pay is the differance from my Pure White from my current Gti of £280 to change to Carbon Grey for my new replacment Gti.

Thanks to all for the comments and help to confuse me  Am sure it will look great, and I will enjoy it.
The next question is the upgraded alloys, would 18" Santiago's look ok on the Gti?.... they would be aftermarkets as i have a set of 18" tyres in the garage

I said the very same thing in the mk6 section last week.  There's a huge choice on the german site.  We do seem to get shortchanged in the UK on the colour choices.  Some of the colours are truly nauseating though.

Mind you, as this thread proves, it's difficult enough making a deicsion from the limited choice we do get so god help us if we had the options afforded to the germans

OP - good decision on the carbon grey

It's easy. The front is two clips but you will do well not to break the pins on the original badge. The back is straightforward enough if you take your time. I drew straight lines around all four sides with a china graph pencil to mark its position. Warm the badge up either by pouring hot water over it or  warm it with a hairdryer or do as I did and just use a bit of fishing line (old crab line) to tease off the old letters. Clean the residue left over from the letters with a bit of Autoglym Intensive Tar Remover and made sure it was dry and clean then stuck the new ones on. They come in plastic tray which is perfectly spaced line them up with your china graph marks and et voilà job done
