Guys as you are aware am in the process of getting a replacement Gti for my problems over the past year with my own Gti PP
My current Gti is Pure White, but I have placed the new order with Tornado Red, but now since I have had a few days to look about am now thinking of changing to Carbon Grey

The car is at stage 2 just now so am guessing I still have time to change the colour if I wanted?

Thoughts???

Carbon Grey would be my choice but I may be biased !!
Also it is a unique colour for GTI / GTD

hastd2: Looks like you've made your mind up, judging by your signature!

Saw a CSG GTD yesterday and it looked better than my Red GTD IMO.

Adding to Booth's "DBP doesn't suit GTI because of the red strie through the lights" comment - I think it's more that the red stripe through the headlights looks wrong, not sure why VW wanted to do this rather than keep the headlight s plain and common to both GTI and GTD. The black looks proper stealthy, and doesn't need the grilles/accents to stick out (again IMO).

I totally agree about the red stripe, why oh why did they run it through the lights??  But DBP seems to further emphasis it 'wrongness'.  That's why DPB looks good on the GTD and the R but less so on the GTI.  With black you always trade off the detailing contrast, but gain über stealth

Keeping DBP is a real labour of love which you need to factor in when you are choosing.  If you want to keep it clean and shiny as much as possible, it's a big time and effort commitment.  My last 4 cars been black (as will be the forthcoming R), I must be crazy and/or very very boring

For a GTI, can't go far wrong with Carbon Grey, as the above pics attest to

I've got pure white on a 5dr gtd and while it suits the car perfectly if go carbon grey if I was ordering again. In fact I'll be carbon grey when I order the gtd estate

Really wanted a white one when ordering but became way to popular , love the red in the summer time and a real GTI colour.

If I was ordering again I would go for the silver though as saw one the other day and it was stunning.

Also saw a R in the silver and thought it was better than the lapiz blue which unfortunately is also becoming to popular.

Carbon Grey though is a great choice! And different!

IMHO Tungsten Silver is the business but of course I'm biased! It looks great and highlights the red taillights & front bumper strip really well. I didn't go for a darker colour as you lose the strakes in front of the fog lights, which I think are a great feature.

Useful have a link to a decent detailer working in the kent area, thanks for posting.  I intend to give my R (due around Sept @ JCB Medway) mine a good going over myself, but handy to know for future ref.
