Anyone recommend a decent wheel detailing brush?
« on: 01 February 2015, 10:21 »
I had a brush which came with wonder wheels (I know what you are all thinking, no I don't use that product anymore) but the brush was quite good, however, it has started losing its bristles, and I wondered if there was a brush which most have found to hold onto the bristles well, and does a great job without scratching the wheels?

Wheel woolies

+1 Brilliant!  Especially if you get the set of 3 sizes.  Big and medium for wheels, exhaust pipes, rear diffuser and lower front, fogs reg plates etc, and tiny wheel woolie is ace for honeycomb grill. Very long handles too for reaching far into the inside of the wheels.  Ages ago someone on here said they fell apart quickly, but not so. Guess it depends how well you look after them.  Not cheap, but a sound detailing investment imo.  They also do an angled one, which I've yet to succumb too

EZ Wheel Brush not bad either but a bit cumbersome compared to a wheel woolie.

Wheel woollies all day long!! We'll be adding a dedicated wash mitt to the WoWo range soon, but not for a little while.

Wheel woollies arrived on the advice of the trusted people of the forum, and the quality is excellent, cannot wait to use them now. Do people use them along side bilberry wheel cleaner which I have used for a while now and been impressed with the results.

I'd recommend washing the face of the wheel as usual and use the woollies for inside rim. The small one is probably the one you'll use the most.

They're great aren't they

Definitely use with Bilberry, it's a winning combo.  Use bilberry as usual, i.e, spray on, leave to dwell for a bit, then agitate with the woolie and rinse off.

Total opposite to Neil, but it's the big one I use the most frequently for the inside rims and middle one for calipers.  I tend to use a lambswool wash pad for the face of the wheel.  Also use mid and small size woolies on other bits of the lower car, like exhaust pipes, grill etc.
