To hijack this thread and make it useful... Whas the difference between standalone ecu? Whats that mean?

as above,
the reason i asked is that with a supra you need a standalone or a piggyback ecu, you cant just map the stock ecu for your upgrades.
good to know the golf's ecu is fine :)

big power can still be had from the AUM so don't let the extra 1mm size on the wrist pins and bigger ports sway your judgment (as that essentially is the only difference on the engines)

I can confirm this, currently running 492bhp on low boost on an AUM with standard inlet manifold and head

Should of said I do just mean the small port head is fine, bottom end need some work, particularly the rods, but that applies for all 1.8t engine codes running circa 300ft-lb or more

ive ended up going with neither and i have just bought a ARZ
seem to have got it for a very good price and is very clean.
looking to have it mapped soon
