Vr6 ticking
« on: 26 January 2015, 13:44 »
AAA vr6 ticking from top end of engine, chains and tensioners were done less than 10,000 miles ago as far as I can tell. Ticks quicker when revs are applied. Oil light flashing when ignition is on but goes off when engine is started.

If it's just all of a sudden appeared i'd be looking at the oil pick up or the pump as already mentioned.

Found that it was running low on oil, so there wasn't enough getting to the top of the engin causing the ticking, dosnt look like it's burning it and it's not leaking from anywhere obvious. Just going to have to keep a eye on it

Make sure the sump aint leaking and/or around the oil filter. Oil must have went somewhere?
