2000 decat fit 1999?

Hi bit of a noob question but wanted to be sure before I order it
I'm looking at buying a sports car for my 1999 1.8t AGU and the one I've seen Says 2000 onwards only
I have Msged the guy about it and he is saying it only fits the models listed but I always thought they was same from 1997-1998 up to is it 2003?
So wondered if this will fit mine ?

Yep will fit fine. The only difference is the extra lambda sensor on the post 2000 cars but all you have to do is block it up
