Arial Cable Check
« on: 12 January 2015, 13:00 »
Hi Folks,

Unfortunately my Arial has stopped working. I don't know what's caused it or where the problem is? I was wondering if any one has removed the audio unit and all the relevant trim to trace the cable.

I'm hopeless at these kind of things but I need to sort it.

There is "something " in the Mk6 info section but I could do with an "idiots" guide with pics if at all poss.

Location: Notts.

Thanks.

Regards,

Mart

You can press and hold the SETUP button on the radio and it will enter a secret menu somewhere in there is an antenna menu or information try that first?

Radio is easy enough to take out remove trim from around the radio and undo 4 screws out it pops, just try not to break any of the clips or scratch the face.

The front trim is held on by the six metal clips that you can see in the picture of the back of it. Carefully prize it off with a suitable tool. It takes a bit more force than feels comfortable, but you should be OK if you don't go at it like a bull at a gate.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

Used this guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT7X-4L-UU8 the removal of that trim piece is scarey!
Audi S1 gone, awaiting 1.5tsi r-line, pan roof, led lights front and rear, active dash, 18" jurva alloys and a dealer fitted Oettinger roof spoiler in tornado red.
