will a golf mk3 2l 16v engine n gearbox fit in to my golf mk3.5 convertible

iv a 2l 8v in at the moment(sack of sh!t ), will I need to change any thing eg wiring clocks etc, will it fit straight in.

It's a straight easy swap and yes you will need engine loom, clocks, ECU ect.

Use the original four stud hubs and shafts with the 16v box. Or swap the whole lot over and make it five stud including the rear axle.
