MK4 Seats
« on: 07 January 2015, 13:00 »
Hi Folks,

Basically, my drivers heated seat is taking a while to heat up now. Normally I have to set it to no 5 to get it going and hot. 1 to 3 gives more or less no heat. I can only assume that the heated seat has been used alot over its life.

Anyways, question is, I am not sure how to go about replacing the element or if its even worth the hassle. The driver seat is starting to wear in general too.

I do have (same colour :), lether heated recaro's from a 3 door 4mo. My golf is 5 door, so I am not sure even if these (3 door) front seats can replace the front (5 door) seats?

Any advice would be great :).

Thanks

The elements are about 90quid a seat and there's a good guide to replacing them on uk mkivs.net.

As for the 3 door seats they'll slot straight in but will have the added (and rather pointless in the 5door) ability to fold forward.

Either option is possible and fairly straight forward from he too, so no labour costs.

Hope this helps.
