Revo or APR package?
« on: 04 January 2015, 10:22 »
Ok so after deciding to keep my mk6  I've now decided I want to improve it.

I was looking at a cobra exhaust, neuspeed intake and any brand of map. I've kinda gone off that idea and now want to go with either full Revo or APR ie exhaust, intake and stage 1 map. Would prefer stage 2 but not wanting to buy a intercooler so stage 1 will do.

Revo is much cheaper but APR just look better quality.

Not wanting crazy results, did that with my focus ST, had it up 300bhp which was totally unnecessary and cost me a fortune to achieve

Any advice much appreciated

APR, Just had map updated from Superchips to Revo...It lacks the bite of the Superchips! Sorry Revo but i wouldn't feel embarrased dumping it into the dealer with the map on the car.
Audi S1 gone, awaiting 1.5tsi r-line, pan roof, led lights front and rear, active dash, 18" jurva alloys and a dealer fitted Oettinger roof spoiler in tornado red.

Now, see i disagree with ya there alltogether, i recently installed revo stage 1 to my GTI, and i had superchips bluefin stafe 1 onit before, and revo on mine is definetely alot faster, i'd say at low revs they're both the same but, after about 4-5k rpm the revo map i've got destroys the bluefin map, i felt like the bluefin died down at higher revs whereas revo's just wants keep on going. Does'ng stop pulling! So personally, i would highly recommend revo, especially atm as there's a 25% sale on! As i think revo and apr's power gains are nearly exactly the same so no point forking out the extra £££

Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with the bluefin superchips remap, as i loved it! But the revo one i've got is a totally different league again...

It's almost as if the maps are the the wrong way round, if that makes sense.

@GolfHappy - It must be your mind fella.

I have dyno's to prove it was 43bhp higher at peak and reached 46bhp higher approx @ 4000rpm.

Get a dyno to prove it mate. Maths win.

Stage 2 can be had with out an uprated Intercooler, I've been running APR stage 2 for nearly a year and only had power drop off during the summer on some long enthusiastic drives, short sprints not a problem on stock.

10 Plate, Silver DSG,  APR Stage 2, APR TBE, Carbonio Intake 1 + 2, Bilstien B8 + VWR Springs, Eibach Front & Rear Roll Bars Powerflex Bushings, TyrolSport Subframe Deadset Collars, Whiteline Endlinks Front & Rear, Neuspeed TOP and Intercooler Pipe, R8 Coilpacks,

I have also had the same problem,I decided on APR stage 2 mapping, full APR turbo back S/S exhaust and VWR intake, that was 18 months ago,it totally transformed the car.Power is up of course, but the amount of torque is unbelievable. The exhaust sounds better than any I have heard, but does not drone on the motorway, fuel consumption also improved.I did not have the intercooler fitted and have not missed it.Only problem I have is getting the power down in damp and wet weather,LSD maybe?

Never had Revo so cannot comment on that.

Jumped straight to APR Stg2+(HPFP,intake and TB exhaust) and absolutely love it, wouldn't want to go any faster TBH and highly recommend the BCS exhaust(had to take the Milltek off because of the drone)
