Test for boost leak using vagcom on an AGU

On a 60 mile run going 60mph - 75mph my car turned back 33mpg rather than the usual 36+mpg I normally get.

I've also noticed that at around 3k revs the turbo has started sounding a fair bit louder than normal and has developed a kind of whooshing noise.

Anyway, I suspect a vacuum leak and I was wondering if there's a way to test the idle values on the agu like you can on the 01+ engines.

I've tried measuring block 032 as suggested, but that doesn't turn back any results, I then read that the equivalent for an agu is groups 7, 8 and 9, but I couldn't find anywhere that tells me what to look out for when inspecting the values.

Can anyone enlighten me?

I've also got this (problem? )  that's been around since I've owned the car, which seems to stunt the economy of the car before I've even set off

The AGU doesnt have a map sensor so there's no way to do a leak test unless you do it manually or you could fit a boost gauge...

33 to 36 mpg increasing speed from 60 mph??.... can't say that bad at all wether its 33 or 36. To a degree, I don't think the MPG guage is that acurate anyways

Ah, that's a shame. A boost gauge would be a good idea, how much can you pick them up for nowadays?

It was just a bit strange to me as it used to get a good 38 mpg on a run doing 75mph the whole way and even though it's the same conditions it's now doing 33 mpg between 60 and 75 with no heavy acceleration.

Yeah I think a smoke test would be the best way about it, but I was hoping that there would be some kind of indication from vag com so I don't go out and waste money on the smoke test

i've seen them before, i forgot about them until now haha.

I'll have a look into it and see if i can whip up a cheap one
