62 plate glendale alloys 35 edition

Had a puncture today on the front of my 62 plate 35 anniversary edition and when removing the wheel the tyres are cut most of the way around the inside edge i hace checked the near side and this is the same

I cant find anywhere where the tyre has been rubbing

Im running standard suspension and brakes anybody else had this problem ?

Looks like a design vw issue

Also have 19" Glendales but no issues or concerns flagged up when having worn or punctured tyres replaced.

In early 2013 whilst having an alignment check, discovered that the front nearside tyre was shredded on the inside but that was down to pothole damage which had bent the inside rim of the alloy.  Both the Glendale and tyre had to be replaced.  Saw the alloy damage first hand and it was quite severely bent, so explained the tyre damage.

Sounds the likely culprit.  Get an alignment check done on a hunter machine.
