Bonnet catch

all 4 rivets on the bottom catch just broke so I have just replaced them.But the bonnet cable handle won't go back on its own what's causing this

Is the cable attached correctly to the catch?

there should be a return spring under the slam panel catch , mine did this when the spring snapped
