I have a similar thing going on at the mo! When driving along and the oil pressure is up, no oil light. When stopped, and at idle, oil light flashes. Had me puzzled till I was under the car the other day, and noticed I have a minor oil leak, which I cant be a**ed to fix yet (its too cold!) I'd say do the obvious firstly and check your oil level, and then maybe get down n dirty, and have a look around the sump and oil pump for signs of leakage. Also make sure your oil filler cap is in good condition and on properly. I could be barking up the wrong tree, but its a starting point for ya!

Oil pressure light comes on at idle:

Sometimes the oil pressure switch goes faulty, so that's a cheap and easy first step. It's right next to the water pipe outlet on the nearside end of the cylinder head.

Is the oil too thin?  Recommended oil is 10w40.

If neither of those solves the problem, then I suspect you're on to more problematic things like a worn out oil pump or worn main/big end bearings.

X2  renew the oil pressure sensor first , cheap & easy..but also if you end up taking the sump off check the oil pick up strainer mesh is clear

i changed the oil using 10w40 2000 miles ago but the oil pressure switch has oil leaking out of it could that be the cause

Looks as if it's going to be an easy fix....the oil pressure switch has a diaphragm that moves under the oil pressure and switches off the oil pressure light.

When the diaphragm leaks, oil spills out of the crimped seal where the spade connector is, and because of the leak, the switch does not operate.

Buy a new oil pressure switch, screw it in, don't forget the copper sealing washer., and I think all will be well again.  Hope so anyway!

It might also be worth dropping your sump and cleaning out the pick up pipe
