When you say drive it like a baby are you short shifting / pulling from low rpm in high gears??

Just trying to understand how you drive as often that will determine if its either you or the part at fault

22k is not good........

Speak to your local Trading Standards for advice   DO NOT ring Consumer Direct or CAB; they are next to useless.......

I work in an airport around 20 odd miles away and its basically a straight road so 6th gear 57mph cruise control on there and back, and any other driving is mainly motorway driving, i try not to labour the engine as i know this aint good. I do give her a little stretch of the legs on the motorway the odd time obviously only while warm. I dont think my driving style is at fault?

Would Trading Standards help me with this ?

They are free to use and will tell you if you have a case to argue

I wouldnt worry about this too much... my 2009 GT TDI 140 started doing this over a year ago now at around 80-85k miles.  I fully prepared myself for a clutch/flywheel change but over a year later it is touching 100,000 miles and has not got any worse.

hey mate!
for one if its still under 3 years dont leave this any longer. Its still in the warranty time i would be demanding even if they class it as a "wear and tear" they replace it now! or fix whatever problem is. who have you been speaking to @ VW? if just the servicing person demand someone higher. if no better then just go to the director of the branch/region.  See whats said but if nothing else threaten with going to auto express and some major magazines about the problem. possibly speak with VW uk as my past experience the dealers lie through there teeth to what they should be doing. if your in the finance where you baloon payment you can always just give them the car back? worry over to which surely they would be replacing this "fault" before putting it into there "approved used" anyway which would question why they are so reluctant to do it under your warranty...

Exact same thing mate ? Thats reassuring knowing that yours did it and its still going strong, it didn't do it for a few weeks there, then the other morning it did it pretty bad once and hasn't done it again, its so random

Thanks very much for your reply :) The service guy said to ring a month before my warranty ends and "we will go from there" I said to him its shocking that a car of this age, price and mileage is having this kinna issue and he just kinna nodded at me lol you have a point there if i was to hand the car back, they would have to fix it anyway before they sold it on, surely it would be easier for them to do it under my warranty as they can claim this back from head office?

I was planning on paying the final payment and keeping the car but this issue is putting me off + it has developed 2 or 3 really annoying creaks/rattles :(

Suppose i have a few months to decide lol
