Hello there by any chance, dose any body have some Bridgestone's tyres 225\40\18 that have been taken off with little mileage on them for Sale, sounds like nobody likes them !!!!!!! they do me fine,  please phone 07706690486 thanks

In how much of a rush are you? I am in and out of the UK quite a lot. I need to make a final decision on a possible tyre change, time permitting. I can get in touch on my return to the UK in about 1+ weeks, i.e. if you have not already purchased a set already by then.

Curveball - Vredestein Sessanta's. I've done 10,000 miles on mine now with 240bhp/500NM - amazing grip in dry and wet, and they are the quietest tyre I've used. More grip and quieter than the Conti Sports the car came with. If I move to an R in a year I'll be using them then too :)

Wow this thread is difficult to draw any kind of conclusion from!

My stock Bridgestones are now in need of replacement on the front (24k) and I thought after reading reviews and various ratings that I'd decided on the Dunlops but now I'm thinking Continentals again.

Anyone else found the Bridgestones get a little noisy after 20k miles?  I had some really cheap tyres on my mk5 GTI and they droned like you wouldn't believe on the road.  Bridgestones are starting to sound similar, I suspect it's the back set going hard.

So, the Evo test said best summer tyres - is it foolish to decide based on that test since I run the same set all year round?

Wrote a long reply, the site crashed and its all gone.
Conti 5 tyres are No1 rated, slightly noisy, have next to no RP if A rated wet grip ones are selected

You don't specify which size.

These Goodyears are good and have upgraded rubber:

Best are Michelin PSS tyres. Expensive, a touch noisy, hardly any RP, best handling and grip. Last long.

So it is a choice of 3 makes. Your call!

Yeah I had Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 on the front of my Mk5, they were OK but didn't really feel they were that great around corners, I guess I'm after the impossible and need to find a compromise.  Quiet is best for me as I drive mostly on the motorway and get fed up with any kind of droning....

Goodyear Eagle F1's are great value and a v gd tyre. Had them on my Mk6 and will be putting them on my Mk7 once those pesky Bridgestones wear out. I'm spinning them up as much as pos atm!

Back to Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2s again then, you can get them for £87.20 fitted from http://www.cartyres.com although they only seem to be sending you to Halfords for fitting - not sure how I feel about that.

I just had the Goodyears put on mine after conti sc5, dunlop sportmaxx rt and pirelli p7.

They feel pretty soft, closest to the dunlops.

Or you could just sell it and give us all some peace

Frankenstein has risen again.

Buying a hot hatch for a quiet and comfortable car with low noise levels...very logical

You should have been here when Asker had his mk6, now that was a saga or ten!
