I would narrow it down to the Michelins and Conti 5's.

Not just tyres!  The only thing keeping your car stuck to the road.

Are you on 18's mcmaddy?

Obviously I haven't tried the Michelin PSS yet (give me a few months), but I am confident they won't disappoint and am willing to take a punt on them.

I have however been running Conti 5p's (19s) for last 3 years and cannot recommend them highly enough.  I would have them again in a heartbeat but fancy a change.  They are not the longest wearing - I got 13k out of my first set of fronts, and they offer very little in the way of rim protection (even the version with rim protector) BUT, the grip in wet and dry is faultless.

Yes I'm on 18's. I've got 15k out of the conti 2's on the front and the rears still have 4mm+ left. I'll be out trying to get some 5's tomorrow.

Yeah my fronts had about 3mm left when I decided to change them.  Let us know what you think of the Conti 5's.

In fairness i'd take that as a benchmark over and above the drivel i read on tyres on a lot of forums and reviews, i'm sure a few Rentals will be having nanking ditch finders on as they were on offer for £80 a corner

My comments are based from actually having them based on the feedback from others whose opinions i rate and value as they know what the are talking about, also having had the chance to test them in a manner i'd never dare contemplate on the road, the key for me is they are very predicable in the wet and dry as well and i now understand the pressure sensitives are, however, this could be seen as absolute drivel by my own comments above

I'm sure contis are great to but do not fit my criteria of where i need things to perform, i like a bit of confidence at 150+ on the autobahn so tyres is a pretty serious deal for me

I'm sure the conti would be just as capable at 150+buy they probably wouldn't last too long on a track

I've had Contis in the past and were great tyres and these are rather a good buy at the moment
