Oh right ok. Not a member of Costco no. I've never really given tyres much thought before but I've never had a car like a GTD with 19" wheels. Was never bothered what and how the tyres were fitted to my previous cars but am with this one.

I'm guessing you would advise staying clear of Halfords etc..? I've used a website for a number of years now called tyresavings.com and the tyre prices on there are very competitive (P Zero Corsas for example are £168 fitted and SuperSports are £170 fitted). Only thing is most of the garages they use tend to be Halfords.

I'd just exercise caution with your wheels wherever they're fitted. I would hope that an organisation as big as Halfords has decent/newis tyre mounting gear, rather than an ape with a set of small jemmy bars. If your wheels are pristine and unmarked just let it be known that they are and you expect them to still look that way post-fitment.

If you're due even 2 tyres, the savings with Costco will pay for a year's membership as right now you'd get a £50 Costco voucher for 2 Michelin Supersports bought at £167 each, fitted. Costco is one of those places where you go in intending on spending £30 and come out having spent £200.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Tell me about it. I bought an oversized hammock from there about 15 years ago at a bargain £200+
My Mrs banned me from going back

Back to tyres, I always thought Costco were the cheapest for Michelin but I went this morning to price up 4 tyres for my daughters Polo 195x55x15 and they wanted £100 a tyre, special order!!
Yet I can get them elsewhere for £87 fitted or delivered for £64 which is a considerable difference.
So not always the cheapest option.

Anyone seen any good deals on tyres lately (like ASDA etc..)? Recommendations welcome as I'm about to rinse some cash!

P.S. There is still 3-3.5mm on the fronts but I'm gonna bite the bullet and replace early. Reason - I'm sick of losing traction!! Going for either Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 or Dunlop Sport Maxx RT.

I found Camskill the cheapest to buy mail order and then got them fitted by a local place. Just have to watch - a lot of garages won't fit tyres that you haven't purchased from them.

All in, 2x Vredestein Sessanta, fitted for £175.

Right then. Best deal I could find for a set of new fronts is this:

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2
£95 each inc vat (fully fitted price on your drive)
From: http://www.tyrefitdirect.co.uk

I'll let you know if they are any good and double double check they don't damage my diamond cut alloys!

Thanks Ross but I've just placed an order. Don't know anything about Vredestein tyres mind. I'm sure they're good but I've plumped for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's this time to replace the OEM fitted Continental Sport Contact 2 (which I wasn't overly impressed with).

Ross whereabouts did you go?
The only place I've found and more importantly trusted was a wee place away over near Costco. Which is a fair jaunt.

Just wanted to give a big thumbs up recommendation to Tyres on the Drive for fitting my new tyres this week.

http://www.tyresonthedrive.com/

They were only a few quid more than buying your tyres online and having them delivered to a fitters. Plus a lot less hassle than waiting around a scruffy tyre fitters.

Another benefit is you're able to watch them work at close hand - mainly to check they don't damage your precious diamond cut alloys. I can report no damage what so ever as the chap was a car lover himself and very careful (and I was breathing down his neck).

Guys I have a dilemma.

Whilst in the hospital whith my daughter it looks like I've got a nail stuck in the rear left. Prob is I fly out early hours of Monday morning for my sister in laws wedding from Luton. Local kwick fit have advised they can do a puncture repair fr 6 quid whilst I decide what to do.  I flipped te tyres late last year so I could ideally flip em back ANdd change the punctured one along with one more.
My he other problem is a lot of places close at 4/5 today and don't open ok Sunday to get a good set of tyres for a good price.

I'm mindful of doing the puncture repair and sorting out tyres when I get back.

Any ideas where I can get a good deal or the best course of action as I need the car today to catch up with last minute holiday stuff as the nipper was in hospital for two nights.
