I've got a 3 door with aircon so i have 2 switches above the ashtray - aircon/recirc and heated rear screen.Im cutting out the ashtray,vagcom socket and fag lighter and panelling that off to fit 2 x 52mm gauges in it.Iv'e already got 2 x 52mm gauges in an adapted fischer cassette holder in the centre console below.Where the switches are now will be cut out and i plan to fit 2 x Polo 6n2 cup holders there instead (side by side which leaves a small gap in the middle which i will blank off or use for the alarm l.e.d.).
The heated rear screen and aircon/recirc switches will be relocated to below the adapted fischer cassette holder,vagcom socket will be relocated to the lower glovebox. Fag lighter will probably be removed for good but i will add a 12v socket in the lower glovebox for portable tyre compressors/lights etc.
I'm in the process of doing this now so i will try to post pics in a week or so.
