PP GTi - Cheshire Stolen
« on: 14 November 2014, 00:05 »
Hi All

Someone's nicked my bros Tungsten PP GTi tonight, looks like they've broken into his locker at the gym and made off from the gym car park.

Some cctv, but nothing conclusive. no GAP insurance either!!!!

If any of you are from the area please keep an eye out (crewe, Nantwich, North staffs). He had his private plate on it which i would expect has been removed by now.

Maybe a pointless post but you never know. I'd think he'd prefer not to get it back tbh.

I cN see him having something else on order by the weekend

As already said, sorry to hear, really bad news for your bro Neil

I wouldn't want a stolen car back either.  Shame no GAP insurance. Stolen to order I expect.

Still worth a look out, Tungsten will be a rare colour on a GTI, rarer still on a PP variant.

No GAP might not be a problem, depending on how long your bro has had the car. Most of the bigger insurers will replace a stolen or written off car within the first year of ownership.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Thanks both!

That's a good point about it being in its first year, forgot about that! I'll mention that to him later.

Hope he gets it back!

I am having a tracker fitted to mine which I collect next week.  At least it can be found quite quickly if it ever gets pinched.  In theory anyway...

FFS! The gym??? Goes to show nowhere is sacred.
I won't say "I hope he gets it back ok" but I do hope this has a positive ending.
Your brother's was such a nice looking colour and spec too  and I'm sure there will be something with an R badge parked on his drive in six months or so!! I've got my fingers crossed for him.

As for Steve78 - really? Would you want it back? To me it wouldn't be a matter of getting the car back but rather getting the tea leaves caught and their wrists gently slapped before being freed onto the streets to carry on their merry scum sucking lives. Once some knuckle dragger has stolen the car and redlined it from cold for a few hours whilst also putting the electronic handbrake to good use a few times I don't think I'd want my cherished car back!!

That may have been the model a few years ago...

Apparently, most cars like this stolen today will be driven somewhere quiet and left for a couple of days to make sure there is no tracker and then driven somewhere and either used in a crime, exported for sale or stripped for parts to sell on...

But in spite of all that, I agree, I wouldn't want it back once it was stolen... you don't know what they've done to it...

The police have said 14 days before they'll declare it stolen for insurance purposes. So he went straight to Global Autocare in Leeds and hired a brand new M3 - every cloud eh!
