Changed to an R from ED35 this weekend as there is not enough of a difference in terms of performance between the ED35 and GTI PP. Agree MK7 R is the performance option and totally worth the extra expense and GTI still best all round.

Here is a pic of the change over, sad to see my ED35 go but grin factor even bigger behind the wheel of the R:

Both fantastic looking cars, congrats - is there any reason you've gone for 18's on the mk7 after 19's on the mk6?

I thought dynamically the M7 GTI was in a different league to my 35, that is why I new its days where numbered and swapped it for the R

Carbon grey just looked so good on the Ed35

You should really post some before (now) pics to compare to the post detail pics you'll be putting up, as mine will look very similar to yours externally (Cadiz/Lapiz). Will be buying some C1 in for mine to do it myself (too tight to pay someone to detail mine).

Looking forward to everything but the fuel bill when I get mine next March.

Had it detailed today - it looks amazing   So worth the money!!

Instead of clogging up this thread with the 21 pics that I took  here is the link should anyone want a nosey

Exonion, thanks. Sorry for slow response been working out of the country. Reason for going for 18's from 19's is that first of all I don't like the Prets and would have gone for Cadiz 19's if these had been an option. However if I had done that I would have also gone for DCC as my wife has a bad back as the 19's on the ED35 were sometimes a little harsh but overall well worth it for looks and sharper steering.

Steering already sharp on MK7 and it rides really well on 18's and I have saved myself the thick end of 2k.
Current: GTI Edition 35 Candy White 5dr DSG 19" Glendale, RCD510+DAB, Dynaudio, Storage Pack, Parking Sensors

Gone: Edition 35, GTI Mk6, Edition 30, GTI Mk4, GTI Mk3, GTI Mk2 and my favourite the UR quattro
For those that dont know DSG is an electronically controlled dual-clutch multiple-shaft manual gearbox

Them Pretoria are not compelling at all, too much space between the spokes and for me just do not look right at all so it would be Cadiz all the way for me.

Ride is also important so doubt would ever go to 19 as 18s are more than big enough and give the presence that seek.
