cutting out when started

hi there i have just got my very 1st golf gti and think its great but in the morning when i start it up it cut out a few times so have to sit at 1500 revs so the car can heat up a bit any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

what year is it, or give us the engine code.... does it come up with fault codes?

could be temp sensor or ignition coil or ...... or .......

Hi there its a j plate 2.0 gti and the code is in 02 it just cuts out in the morning and when I start the car after work

No mate "IN02" is not a fault code, just means your car has not had a service in a very long time!

fault codes you need to read with vcds

that will be a 2e engine with Bosch injection, It could be worth checking the ISV and giving it a good clean. a VCDS scan is also recommend to check other items
