VCDS help/advice needed,
« on: 21 October 2014, 05:40 »
Hi guys I own a mk6 golf gti on a 60 plate and yesterday afternoon popped up to see a local vw garage that use vcds so asked if he could do a few things for me, any way he got the needle sweep, seat belt dong and cornering fogs working but auto lock, flashing break lights under panic stop and cherp when locking have not worked, he said the later was unavailable and the auto lock was on but may take a day or so for the ecu to learn this, is this correct or should everything be available and working straight away? Also he said if it isn't working still by Friday just go back there and he will have a look, any help would be much appreciated also is there anything else I could get done whilst I'm there? Thanks in advance

Autolock is in the menu in the dash clocks, under comfort I think or one of the menus, you can enable it from there.

It will take a few days for the car to learn it?
Take it to someone who knows what they are doing.
Whereabouts in the country are you? I'm sure someone could do it for you.

As above auto locking is enabled via the menus within the highline computer, no VCDS coding required!
