Am I right in assuming these lease deals do not include maintenance. I'm still in two minds to to try and sell privately and get a car on lease or just PX on a PCP.

If it's a two year, 10k miles a year lease, will it need a service if it's on longlife?

If the car stays on longlife, you will not get to 2 years before it asks for a service, especially on it's first one, figure for an 18 month ask. Unless you're doing motorway miles and 15k + miles PA you shouldn't be on longlife. There may even be a clause in your lease that stipulates you have to service it on the time and distance regime and that service 2 needs to be done before the car is given back (or they'll charge you a penalty fee to have it carried out). Check your contract.

There are going to be plenty of abused leasers out there. I think "privately owned, serviced on time and distance" might be a huge selling point on an R in a few years time.

I agree. Personally, I would never buy a car that had been a lease vehicle. It's the same as buying from a car supermarket - 90% of those vehicles are lease/company car vehicles - and 90% of company car drivers don't give a toss about "their" car.

(Stats completely made up btw )

Slightly off topic, does anyone know of some good deals other than the R. I need to replace my old mans car and he only does 20 miles a day through Brum. He doesn't need summat as powerful or flashy. I tried to convince him to get the 1.4gt golf but can't seem to find any deals.
