I've only ever used the mk7 revo intake on an R so don't have any figures to compare, but this one sure looks a whole lot nicer and is much simpler to fit.

Dying to know how it performs against the revo unit Topher...?

That's my beast there ;) Full dyno graph will be up soon once I get hold of my MacBook along with videos in and outside the car. I'll tell you now that the gains are higher than expected and it's pretty quiet inside the cabin. Very glad I bought it :)

Full review to follow.

What does everyone think to the suitcase muffler delete on the MK7? Makes it sound a lot throatier and raspier. I find the MK7's exhaust to be a little to tame for my liking.

I'm not convinced on the turbo delete, and I'm convinced the noise made by that video is just the aftermarket exhaust

As far as I'm aware the exhaust is stock he's just put some custom 4" tailpipes on the car and removed the rear silencer. So i'm pretty sure it's the delete that's producing the deeper sound and crackles.

Not exactly gonna win any awards for sound but certainly anything is better than the sheer nothingness of the standard exhaust sound. Question is how much for this mufflerectomy?

Not much I'd imagine. He said it cost $300 all in I think, that was including the tailpipes he bought. It's just a case of removing the silencer. Be interesting to see how it would sound with a none resonated Milltek Downpipe and the muffler delete.

The reason this appealed to me is that it seemed to be a cost effective mod to get a bit more sound without needing to purchase a full blown turbo back exhaust for £1500-2000. Obviously for performance reasons you'd need to change the Downpipe eventually anyway if you're going Stage 2 onwards.

Best to ask a customer exhaust garage, should £200 then. And that set up... loud lol, might as well remove the exhaust entirely
