just to be sure, the replacement one is 056919081C?

ETKA lists 028919081D for the ADY

no one makes a switch like that now, even vw...only hope.to go.to.scrap yard and try to find one...i got lucky and found one...but only one..otherwise oil light will flash and mot man will note it....or not as i told one tester about it and he ignored it after seeing what good shape the car is in..
.. just think if vw cars all lasted 25 years...company would go bankrupt....sad but.true

Sure you can buy the senders.... and they are still being made (VW never made them themselves).
They are fairly simple, even if not you could easily use one from another car using an adapter. Just takes a bit of research, though you can still buy all the ones used on mk3s....

Any idea why the ones from GSF don't work? I wonder if they realise.
Cheers

Do you own a multimeter?

The low pressure switch on ADY should be NC (i.e. with engine NOT running should have continuity with GND).
High pressure switch is NO, so should be open loop with engine NOT running.

Vice versa with engine running and oil pressure being OK (the high pressure switch may only trigger at higher rpm when oil pressure is higher than in idle).

Sorry, i have been a complete dic*head.
I have been out today with a multimeter and checked the continuity of the pressure switches, with engine off and then running.
All seemed ok.
I noticed, however, that the coolant expansion tank level looked very low, so i topped it up.
When i re-started the car, i noticed the light that had been flashing was the coolant level light, not the oil can.
So oil pressure is ok, with no leaky oil pressure switch.

Just need to keep an eye on why i had lost most of my coolant.

cheers for the help guys.
