Mk4 vs truck driver
« on: 09 September 2014, 13:49 »
Changing lanes in crawling traffic and some retard truck driver from check-republic decided to drive into my rear nearside rear quarter panel and swipe my door wheel arch and bumper.

Most of the marks are white paint off his truck but the rear wherl arch is dinted etc.

Can that panel be replaced?

It can be cut out and a new panel welded back in.

What sort of £ is that?

It looks worse becsuse of the marks but may just leave it.

Not sure if to go through insurance or anything though of if they will end up claiming

if he hit you try claiming him but most insurance companies will write it off when they get the estimated repair costs

Yeah he went into the rear quarter of me but didnt look as his wheel is on other side.

Just dont want to lose 5 yr no claims if insurance doesnt decide its his fault

You need a witness who seen the incident and can say it was the lorry drivers fault 100%
You will need a statement, diagram/drawing and time line of events from your witness.

Other wise you may open a can of worms which was best to keep shut.

Been there done that and even though it was a blantant colision from a van driver all the way down the side of my Pug 306 my insurance company nearly paid the van driver out until I got my act together

Yeah thats happened to me before. Somebody elses fault and they said 50/50. WTF.

Most of the paint is coming off. Its left the dents in the rear quarter panel but not too bad as car is black.

Will use tcut or something this week. Likely wont claim as it will likely cause more problems than it solves. Not sure if they will though. But their company is based in check republic and didnt speak a word of english.

My gf was in the car but its a biased witness so likely wont count to much anyway and got no external witnesses.
