GTI Revo Stage 1 (With Graphs)
« on: 31 August 2014, 23:32 »
Hello guys,

I took my car down to Chris at Midlands VW on Saturday for a Revo Stage 1 Remap and here are the graphs, showing both 3 stock tests and 3 tests after the remap for all those of you interested. I apologise as my scanner isn't working so I had to take a photo of it, hopefully you can still see it. I'll upload a better scanned version once i'm back up and running.

Here is revo's claimed graph;

So 295.5BHP & 312LB FT of Torque were the highest measured results. That's with Shell V-Power with the SPS on Performance Mode 2. That's 24.5BHP and 28LB FT of Torque lower than what Revo's max gain claim is, however they were obviously using Performance Mode 3 and the highest possible octane fuel to get these results, so all in all pretty close to the claimed figures. The air humidity wasn't fantastic and the temperatures could have been better for getting big results. The stock intercooler and intake also seem quite poor. I have an APR intake on order and will get the intercooler once it's released and then along with a few other bit's i'll be popping back to Chris who will hopefully, kindly allow me back on his Dyno and we can see what difference improved airflow makes to the car.  :cool:

The car is an absolute monster under acceleration and covers ground extremely quickly. I would definitely say the car is sat around 5.5 seconds 0-62 now.

How does this compare to APR's claimed figures?

APR have gotten bag loads more torque out the car. Not sure how the gearbox's enjoy this but an impressive 381LB FT that's over 500NM of torque!

Realistically I would imagine you'd see 360LB FT which is still a very healthy 488NM of torque. The BHP would probably read almost the same on 98 RON fuel to the Revo software. Users with the APR upgrade have complained about a 'jolt' when changing gears low down though which is probably due to the sheer amount of torque the front wheels are having thrown at them all at once. So arguably Revo may deliver this power in a smoother way?

That's a good improvement, great value for money.
I wonder if you would mind answering a question please? How are the existing engine modes affected? Do they still function?
Thanks

The existing engine modes still function as they used to. I have a DSG box and the shift times are still the same as the DSG software is a seperate release.

What I wasn't expecting though is really noticeable improvements in MPG too! I'd say the car is now around 5-10% more economical on my commute to work.

So yes factor all that in and the upgrade is most certainly great value for money.

I can't wait to get this on my car, going to be paired with the Revo intake. So hoping my gains are really worth it! This is very promising
