Anyone ever tried fitting polybushes? Pics included
« on: 23 August 2014, 21:42 »
Spent the last 5 hours swearing, screaming and smoking lots of cigarettes. Can anyone please shed some light on my situation before i torch the thing?

Basically i've already fitted the polybushes but when i've come to fitting the wishbone back it seems the bolt holes won't line up, I've tried near enough everything from swearing at it, hitting it with a lump hammer to see if i can get it to align properly (it's fairly tight with the polybushes, they're much bigger than standard bushes). I've also tried to jack up the hub to see if the different angle makes them align. No luck..

Help me get this bolt in and i'd go as far as saying i'd probably suck you off.

You need to get your wishbone horizontal before the rear bolt goes in properly, ideally with the hub disconnected & held to one side to help alignment

I've done this myself on mine so it's possible

also your alignment will need sorting once this is all done...

Personally I'd use a windy gun lol

A windy gun? I did this myself too with standard bushes but the polybushes are so huge there is no room to wiggle them for alignment.

Looking at the pics, is the ball joint still connected? I found it easier to connect ball joints last.

Managed to do it by removing the hub, cost me an extra £25 for a 1/2" breaker and a 30mm socket but no more swearing. Cheers lads.
