http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-1-8T-GTI-Turbo-230bhp-AGU-Engine-2000-W-Modified-BBS-/321449570801?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4ad7e331f1&nma=true&si=y%252F2zGDzKi2fyhDnSIHKxYgQfGsQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

The car has been remapped to 205bhp but then added to this is a K&N 57i Kit aswell as a decat pipe and straight through 3" scorpion stainless steel exhaust and is running approximatley 230bhp

I call bullsh!t on this one.  No mention of upgrading the turbo.  230bhp from an AGU, 25bhp of that from an air filter and decat.  Dream on

The turbo has to have been upgraded if he got 205bhp out of it, unless they have taken it to unsafe levels of boost and stuff, and yeah i call bullsh*t on getting another 25bhp out of an airfilter and decat too haha

a K03s on a stage 2 remap can see those figures.. would be interesting to know though
ARZ K03s, Oettinger Side Skirts, R32 front, Carbon stage 2, Forge 007p (yellow spring), Forge Actuator (yellow spring), Pipercross panel filter with DSG parts, N249 and N112 deleted, SAI deleted, Carbon canister deleted, Rear wiper deleted, Long Life turbo back custom exhaust with 200 cell sports cat, VR6/G60 clutch kit, Creation Motorsport TIP, Catch can, 'Wellycooler', K04 charge pipe, S3 ported inlet manifold - looks pretty standard on the outside though :)

I think the general opinion is that don't believe anything written about cars on ebay without proof. Story tellers central on there these days as the sellers market gets more difficult.

This bit put me off reading the rest straight away

"this engine benefited from a big valve head and forged crank and rods as standard"

the worst bit is he probably thinks this is true....

Also it looks like he's added the theoretical maximum of the bolt on mods (after it's remapped) to the power figure lol

If only

A big valve head with a standard turbo would be detrimental to the power/torque anyways
