Engine temp sensors my next move i reckon, if thats not it then its going to have to go to VW an have a look at that Water Pump, an yeah its got warrenty so if the pumps faulty they will cover the parts an labour costs,

So do you guys not think theres any connection with it being ran low on oil an now overheating?

Cheers guys :)

Maybe, you could have damaged the engine.

How long was it run on low oil? The 2.0 TFSI engine needs good oil and plenty of it all the time.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Was the warning light a level or pressure indication

I once refurbished the crank on a Cortina for the sake of a faulty oil pressure switch.

If you can, I would get the gauge checked with VCDS before paying out the labour for a new pump to be fitted.

And don't take long with it. The headgasket will not like the additional expansion and contraction it is suffering from not running at a stable temp.

Im not sure it was just an icon of an old oil boat, like a gravy boat ha,
And how would i go about getting the VCDS checked mate? Do local garages do it? I know its need sorting asap before the head gasket starts to give up :/
Thanks guys :)

There are two temp sensors. You can compare one to the other with VCDS.

It will cost you £20 or so to get it read . Ask on this forum if there are any members that would do it for you.
